Century Arms is one of the largest importers of surplus firearms in the
country, best known for SKS rifles, Mosin Nagant rifles, and AK47 rifles.
Century Arms International prides themselves on producing cost effective
firearms which are compliant with the laws and restrictions of the civilian
market. Century Arms has around 180 employees and is constantly growing, which
is evident by a look at almost every gun shop in the USA.
Century Arms has a large staff dedicated to producing high quality firearms
to be compliant with BATFE regulations, making them affordable and available to
the average working man. One of the first Century Arms coach guns, or double
barrel shotguns, became a staple in the company’s product lineup. Now Century
has an extensive product line devoted to law enforcement agencies and is also
starting an auction website, making the name one synonymous with firearms.
Century Arms is also well-known by those enthusiasts who possess a curio and
relic license for their import of Mausers, Mosin Nagant, SKS rifles, and other
highly sought after pieces of history. Century has one of the largest selections
of any importer, thanks mainly to the BATFE reinterpreting their part kit
importation law that was in place for several years. Although the new
interpretation did not affect bolt action rifles, it did affect AK47 rifles, FAL
rifles, Cetme rifles, as well as many more; unfortunately for firearms
enthusiasts there is nothing we can do about it.
Some of the pieces of Century Arms arsenal are no longer available in parts
kits, which is sure to affect Century’s hold on the marketplace. In the firearms
industry, diversifying is the key to financial survival and judging by the new
auction site launched in mid-2008, there is sure to be that familiar name for
decades to come.
The launch of a handful of websites shows the growth of the company to the
Internet, which as a whole the firearms industry has all but forgotten.
Century’s focus and diligent employees are sure to keep them a common name in
the industry, going as far as, and even beyond, much larger companies.
I believe Century Arms has some of the best firearms for the money, although
I would recommend any potential buyer to carefully examine their firearm prior
to purchase; Century is not going to give you the most beautiful firearm,
although it’s a sure way to get the design of your choosing without breaking the
bank. I have always had great luck with Century Arms products.
